Captain Brian
Captain Brian is the heart and soul of Regenero escapes. He holds a USCG Captain’s license (50 ton, sailing, towing endorsements). A lifelong waterman, he was raised on the water, sailing with his family from California to the South Pacific as a boy in an era before modern GPS and communication. Ocean safety and aquatic activities have always been his passion, and he has worked for over 20 years as an ocean lifeguard and EMT/firefighter in CA and Hawaii. He founded an Ocean Rescue program at his local fire brigade and was named firefighter of the year in 2016.
A big wave surfer, he has surfed some of the the most famous waves in California and Hawaii. He also started his own surf school and co-founded a program that gives disadvantaged youth the opportunity to safely enjoy the water. He comes from a fishing family and has worked his own boats as a commercial fisherman so he knows how to find the fish.
He loves meeting, hanging out, and sharing information with guests, helping them enjoy, and keeping them safe in and around the water.
First Mate Erin
Born along California’s central coast, Erin has always had a love of the ocean. She studied marine biology in college, working with renowned marine scientists such as Dr Samuel Gruber at his shark research lab in Bimini, and Ken Balcomb, founder of the Center for Whale Research in Puget Sound. She left that field to run away with the circus and pursued her passion for aerial acrobatics, graduating from Circus school in Europe and touring internationally for over decade. She is an experienced first responder, an EMT and firefighter in California where she founded a rope rescue program in 2019.
She has been instrumental in founding several circus arts programs across the US. In 2024, she started a circus arts program in Hope Town for the children of the Abacos.
She is thrilled to be living on the water and loves sharing that joy with guests. In the right winds, she may even dazzle you with silks show from the spare halyard.
